Haomiao Huang

Bio

Haomiao joined Kleiner Perkins in 2019 to work on early-stage hardtech investments. He previously co-founded Kuna Systems, a home security services company where he was Chief Technology Officer leading the engineering and product design team to create the first integrated lighting and cloud camera home security product. In 2012, Haomiao co-founded Topographik & Arc Cameras, developing an at-home 3D body scanner from the Xbox Kinect for custom clothing fit. Both Kuna and Arc Cameras were YC companies from the class of 2014 and 2012 respectively. In addition to founding companies, Haomiao was also on the Berkeley Overmind Starcraft AI team that won first place in the Starcraft AI competition and he is an active contributor to Ars Technica on AI and robotics. He is a passionate reader on history and politics and loves to cook in his spare time, particularly Texas BBQ. Haomiao was a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow at Stanford and received his M.S., Ph.D in Aeronautics & Astronautics. He graduated from Caltech B.S. (with honors) in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Control and Dynamical Systems.
