Sean Carlson

Bio

Sean Carlson rejoined Kleiner Perkins in 2019 as Vice President of Tax. As part of the operations group, he oversees the day-to-day tax function of Kleiner Perkins including fund compliance and reporting, research and planning, and structuring related to portfolio company investments and exits. Sean's prior industry experience includes tax roles at Bertram Capital and Legacy Partners. He was also part of KPMG, LLP's federal tax groups in both Chicago, IL and San Francisco, CA, specializing in the alternative investment industry. Sean earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from North Park University and a Master of Science degree in Taxation from Golden Gate University. He is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant in California and a member of the American Institute of CPA's.
