Bio

George was most recently President and CEO of Insource Contract Services, a performance management company that specializes in internally outsourced contract services combining engineering services with a managed insourced labor force for clients in the Southeastern United States. George retired from the day-to-day operations of the business after the business was sold to Colville Capital in 2008 and is now a director. From 2000 to 2003, George was with the Wakefield Group, a Charlotte-based investment firm, where he was a Venture Partner and Entrepreneur-in-Residence. Prior to Wakefield Group, George was the founder and CEO of DBS Systems Corporation, the exclusive provider of billing and customer care services to DIRECTV, Inc. DBS worked with DIRECTV from the inception of its business and was an integral player in the launch of DIRECTV’s digital satellite pay TV business in 1994. Prior to DBS, George was the CEO of several information systems and software companies that specialized in high volume, mission critical, transaction processing systems. George Mackie joined NMP in 2009. In his Venture Partner role, George plays an active role in reviewing investment opportunities and in working with NMP portfolio companies to create and manage high growth. George currently serves as Chairman of Adaptivity, a recent NMP portfolio investment. George received a BS in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina, where he frequently visits as a lecturer in the Entrepreneurship program.
