Dr Mitchell J Blutt, MD

Bio

Dr Blutt is a Partner in the New York office. Dr Blutt participates in the general management of the firm, as well as having specific responsibility for overseeing the Global Life Science and Health Care Infrastructure Group and certain other investment focus areas for JPMP. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Medicine at Weill Medical College and Graduate School of Medical Sciences of Cornell University. Dr Blutt completed his BA and MD degrees from the University of Pennsylvania. He received his MBA at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania during the Clinical Scholars Fellowship sponsored by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. He completed his medical residency at the New York Hospital/Cornell Medical School. He was one of the first employees of Chemical Venture Partners (1986), the predecessor to Chase Capital Partners, which is now JP Morgan Partners LLC. Dr Blutt serves on the boards of directors of several companies, including Hanger Orthopedic Group, DJ Orthopedics Inc, Ryko Corp, MedQuest Associates Inc, and National Surgical Care Inc. He formerly served on the board of Cardinal Health Corp, General Medical Corp, and many other companies. He also serves on the Board of the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. Dr Blutt is a member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania, a member of the Board of Overseers of the University of Pennsylvania's School of Arts and Sciences, and a member of the Executive Committee and Board of Penn Medicine. He is also a Member of the Finance Committee of Penn Medicine. He is also on the Board of the Brearley School. He formerly served on the Board of the National Venture Capital Association.
