Bio

Before joining CDC Innovation in 2004, Valéry co-led the Fund of Funds team at the Caisse des Dépôts for 3 years. Previously, he co-headed during 2 years the SME Financing Office at the French Treasury with overall responsibility for private equity market development, SME financing and fostering innovation policy. He played a leading role in laying the foundations for the creation of incubators, early stage funds and public fund of funds. Prior to that, Valéry worked for the French Defence Procurement Agency (DGA) where he managed the technical team involved in the government’s telecommunications satellite project, Syracuse III. During that time, he played a key role in defining the architecture trade-offs with international partners and negotiating the technical options, calendars and offers with suppliers. He started his career in Australia at Telstra, the national incumbent telecom operator, working in a joint R&D department with Sydney University on CDMA mobile architectures. Valéry holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique in Paris (X90).
