Bill Magill

Bio

Bill has over 20 years of experience working with optical and technology companies as a venture investor, equities and market analyst, and technologist. Bill is a Managing Director at TeleSoft focusing on energy, communications and materials. Previously, Bill also led the investment in Kymata (acquired by Alcatel). Before joining TeleSoft, Bill was a Principal and Senior Research Analyst at Banc of America Securities where he covered wireline telecom equipment companies. He was awarded Honorable Mention in Institutional Investor's 1998 All-American Research Team. Prior to Banc of America, Bill was a senior analyst tracking markets for fiber optic components and systems first with ElectroniCast Corp. and later with RHK, Inc. He began his career as a lasers and optical systems technologist at TRW and Livermore National Labs. Bill is an observer on the boards of Amberwave, Nexant and Xambala Bill received an M.B.A. from San Francisco State University and a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Davis. He also has a degree as an Associate of Applied Science in Lasers and Electro-Optics from Texas State Technical Institute.
