16 years of principal investment, advisory and business-building experience focused on the clean technology, IT and Telecommunications industries. After dedicated the early part of his career to funding and advising companies (at Nomura, Salomon Brothers, Bowman Capital and Deloitte and Touche) in the IT and telecommunications, industries that are characterised by technological innovation, high growth, regulation and significant infrastructure investment, he turned his attention in 2002 to the clean technology industry which he saw as having similar characteristics. Has exclusively focused on clean technology since that time. Initially helped young companies in the industry raise capital and also advised the UK Government on creating a framework for growth in the domestic clean technology industry. Co-founded New Energy Finance (acquired by Bloomberg on 10 December 2009), the leading provider of data, research and analysis to top investors in the global clean technology industry in 2003, he subsequently dedicated the next 3 years to building the company and developing the company’s service offering and advising large investors on developing a clean technology investment strategy. At New Energy Finance, helped create the WilderHill New Energy Global Innovation Index (NEX), a global index which tracks companies in the clean energy sector.
