Daryl Yurek

Bio

Born in Canada, Daryl lived in Canada and Europe before settling with his family in Boulder, Colorado in 1987. He has founded or co-founded companies on both sides of the US/Canada border including Destron /IDI; the Opus Capital Fund, and Bolder Venture Partners. Daryl co-founded Destron/IDI in 1984 as a world leader in RFID and companion animal microchip identification. While serving as Chairman of Destron, Daryl arranged two acquisitions resulting in what is now Destron Fearing, the leader in radio frequency identification for animal identification. In building the company, he created major alliances with Rhone Merieux, Hughes Electronics and other multinational corporations. When Daryl established manufacturing capabilities in Europe and South East Asia for Destron, he developed a network that has been instrumental to the success of several of the other firms he has sponsored. His efforts and experience with Destron/IDI, led to the operating philosophy and service offerings of BVP. In 1992 Daryl co-founded and acted as the General Partner in the Opus Capital Fund and in 1997 founded Bolder Venture Partners. In the period from 1992 to the present, Daryl has refined and put into practice the BVP formula for success, acting as fund raiser, financial advisor and sometimes manager to 12 different early stage technology companies.
