A Venture Partner with Wellington Partners since 2001, Mr Plattfaut advises on investments in software and services companies. In addition, he is involved in startups in the telecommunications arena; as part of these activities he has been a cofounder of former Wellington portfolio company net mobile AG where he served on the board and led the company as CEO up to the IPO in 2005. At the moment, two portfolio companies, 1-2-3.TV and Truphone, in particular are benefting from his vast experience in the telco and media arena. Before joining Wellington Partners, Mr Plattfaut was based in London as vice president global network services and vice president Europe for global undersea fiber optic carrier FLAG Telecom Ltd. Responsible for building European business and developing global network service activities, he was also involved in FLAG Telecom's successful US $ 1.4 billion high-yield IPO placement in early 2000. Prior to this, Mr Plattfaut was a director at vodafone / o.tel.o communications / Vebacom, where he held various positions in general management. Before that, he was a senior manager at McKinsey & Company, responsible for client projects in telecommunications and information technology.
