Eric Hyun-Sup Byun

Bio

Eric Byun is a Vice President with Carlyle Strategic Partners, focusing on distressed and corporate opportunity investments across a variety of sectors and asset classes. Mr. Byun is based in New York. Since joining Carlyle in 2005, Mr. Byun has been actively involved with numerous credit and equity investments, several involving credit workout and corporate reorganization processes. Mr. Byun is a member of the transaction team which led the acquisition of Metaldyne, LLC. Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Byun was employed by Evercore Partners and Salomon Smith Barney, both in New York. Mr. Byun is a member of the Board of Directors of MD Investors Corporation (the parent company of Metaldyne, LLC) and RPK Capital Partners, LLC. Mr. Byun received an A.B. in applied mathematics from Harvard College.
