Mr. Leathers joined Pine Brook in September 2009 and, together with Mr. Spiegel and Mr. Glanville, is responsible for Pine Brook's financial services investing activities. Mr. Leathers has over 16 years of financial services experience, including 13 years focusing exclusively on making private equity investments in the industry. Prior to joining Pine Brook, he was a partner with Capital Z Partners, a leading private equity investor in the financial services industry with over $2.1 billion under management. While at Capital Z, Mr. Leathers sourced and structured transactions across multiple sectors of the financial services industry and served as a director of Universal American Corp., Permanent General Corp., USI Holdings, SBJ Group and several smaller companies. Earlier in his career, Mr. Leathers was an investment banker with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions and p He currently serves on the board of directors of three Pine Brook portfolio companies, including Aurigen Capital Limited, Green Bancorp, Inc., and Narragansett Bay Insurance Company. Mr. Leathers holds a B.S. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business and a B.A. in History from the University of Pennsylvania's College of Arts and Sciences.
