Bio

Joined Railpen in 1990 and has been responsible for corporate governance since 1997. Main focus is on responsible investment, corporate governance and shareholder engagement with investee companies and others. An expert in corporate governance and is a member of numerous key groups including the International Corporate Governance Network and chairs its Non-Financial Business Reporting Sub-Committee and the NAPF Shareholder Affairs Committee. Represents Railpen on corporate governance industry bodies including the Corporate Governance Forum and the Responsible Investors Network and has helped draft various guidance notes on best practice and disclosure. Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA). Also serves as an honorary adviser to the ICSA and is a member of its Charitable Funds Management Committee. Prior to joining Railpen worked in the UK university sector as an accountant. Started his career in finance with Williams & Glyn's Bank in 1982. Graduated from University College London with a Bachelor's degree in English.
