Gaurav Burman

Bio

Gaurav started his career in the Business Development Group at Dabur India Ltd, a US$2 billion market capitalised company quoted on the Bombay stock exchange. In 1997 he joined Dresdner Kleinwort Capital, a global private equity firm with over US$1.5 billion under management. Gaurav was initially based in London where he was a member of the European mezzanine team but relocated to New York in 1998 to report directly to the head of Dresdner’s Global Private Equity Group following Dresdner’s acquisition of Kleinwort Benson. Gaurav was instrumental in forming a number of the new private equity products within Dresdner including the US media and technology private equity business and launched a US$125 million Fund in which he was a founding partner. Gaurav has also originated and executed a number of transactions on a personal basis and had built a stable of interesting assets. More recently he raised and is the President and Secretary of Atlas Acquisition a US$200m SPAC (Special Purpose Acquisition Company), listed in the US. Gaurav sits on a number of boards including Dabur International, Atlas Acquisition, Nitco Tiles, Elephant Capital and is on the international Board of Tufts University. Gaurav is also a member of the Young Presidents Organisation (YPO).
