Jason Gerlach

Bio

Jason Gerlach joined Sunrise in 2008 and is the firm’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner. In his roles, Gerlach determines and drives the overall business strategy and oversees the firm’s day-to-day business operations and activities. Gerlach also chairs Sunrise’s Management Committee. Previously, Gerlach was an attorney with Hale and Dorr LLP (now WilmerHale) in Boston and later, with Howard Rice (now Arnold & Porter LLP) in San Francisco. Gerlach holds a J.D. cum laude and an M.A. in Public Affairs and Policy Analysis from the University of Wisconsin and a B.A. in Government from Cornell University. Gerlach has completed additional graduate studies in business and finance at The Wharton School, Harvard Business School, and Northwestern University. Gerlach co-founded the California Alternative Investments Association (CalALTs) in 2010, served as that organization’s President from 2013–2019, and remains a member of its Board of Directors. In 2020, Gerlach is co-founding the United States Alternative Investment Association (USALTs) with other alternative investment industry leaders. Gerlach holds both Series 3 and Series 65 registrations and is a member of the California, Massachusetts and Wisconsin State Bars.
