Bio

Jawad Qasim is an Associate Director for DIC’s Emerging Markets division, where he helped set up and continues to oversee DIC’s first country specific fund, Jordan Dubai Capital (‘JDCapital’), which currently manages over $1 billion of assets across key sectors in Jordan including infrastructure, energy, financial services and real estate. As part of his ongoing involvement with JDCapital, Jawad sits on a number of boards and committees, including Jordan Dubai Islamic Bank, Amlak Finance - Jordan, and Energy Management Services Company. Jawad previously worked with DIC’s Public Equity division until the end of 2008, where he was responsible for structuring and execution of strategic investments in publicly listed companies. He was also involved in setting up the Global Strategic Equities Fund in 2006 through which investments in Global Fortune 500 companies are executed. Prior to these roles, Jawad was a member of DIC’s Private Equity team leading international buyouts and was involved in the £700m acquisition of Doncasters and £675m acquisition of Travelodge, both in 2006. Before joining DIC in 2005, Jawad was an investment banking analyst in a Joint Venture between Doha Bank and United Gulf Bank (investment banking arm of Kuwait Investments Projects Company) in Qatar where he helped set up the corporate finance and advisory functions at Doha Bank.
