Joined LMP as General Counsel in January 1999. Jay has over 30 years of experience in sophisticated corporate and securities transactions, with an emphasis on private equity investing in the asset management industry. His experience as a counselor at law has regularly involved providing advice to Boards of Directors, CEOs and senior executives on corporate strategic planning, transaction structuring and mergers and acquisitions. Jay has served as senior legal advisor in connection with a number of major corporate transactions involving asset management companies. Member of the Boards of Directors of Atlantic Asset Management, Berkeley Capital Management, Clarivest Asset Management, and Duff & Phelps. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of SkillPath Seminars, and the Boards of Trustees of Graceland University, The Hubbard Foundation, and The Linde Foundation. Member of the bars of the States of California, Colorado, Illinois, Kansas and Missouri, and he is a Registered Foreign Attorney in England. Jay received a JD degree from Harvard University and a BA degree from Graceland University, where he later received an Honorary Doctorate of Law.
