Responsible for technological and financial analysis, and transaction support. Specialises in R&D and clinical stage opportunities across the life sciences, and applies combined scientific and financial analysis to the evaluation, structuring and execution of transactions. Has a track record in M&A, Private Placement and Corporate Partnering. Came to Ferghana Partners from the London office of US investment bank Friedman Billings Ramsey, having worked in corporate finance and earlier as a sell-side analyst covering companies focusing on disorders of the central nervous system. Originally trained as a neuroscientist, and has published scientific papers in Science, Brain Research and other journals. Managing Partner at Capel Thompson & Homer LLC, a Ferghana affiliate providing business development advisory services, and Managing Member of Simile Investors LLC, a US venture partnership. Also an Emmy Award-winning former foreign correspondent for CBS News and was Biotechnology Correspondent for Financial Times "MarketWatch". PhD in Neurosciences at UC San Diego at the Salk Institute and a BA in Mathematics from Columbia University.
