Bio

One of the UK’s leading advisers and investors in UK technology companies. Leading London businessman specialising in venture capital for high growth early stage companies. Director of a number of quoted and unquoted companies, primarily in engineering and high technology sectors. Trained at Barclays Bank until 1968 and left to work for a small money broker (Exco International plc) which, under his management, grew to become the world's largest money broking company. In 1985 joined British & Commonwealth Shipping plc, becoming Managing Director and Chairman. From 1991 to 1999 ran John Duncan & Company Ltd, a business strategy consultancy. Launched Ludgate in 2000. BA (Hons) in German and an Honorary Doctorate from University of Nottingham.
