John Morrison rejoined CEA as a Managing Director of the investment banking and corporate finance group. John is based in the firm’s New York office and is responsible for M&A and corporate finance transactions involving the communications, media, entertainment, information technology, government services and financial services industries. John has more than 25 years of experience advising Fortune 500 companies and owners of private, middle-market businesses on M&A and corporate finance transactions in both the domestic and international sectors. Prior to rejoining CEA, John was Managing Director at RSM EquiCo, a subsidiary of H&R Block (NYSE: HRB), where he was responsible for all investment banking activity for the east coast of the U.S. and helped position the firm as a top twenty M&A house for each of the last three years (based on Mergerstat rankings). Prior to joining RSM EquiCo, he founded and was Managing Director at Bird Key Partners, LLC, which served middle-market, emerging growth and small-cap public companies. John’s industry experience includes media, entertainment, tele- communications, technology, government services, financial services, manufacturing and business services providers. In addition to his previous tenure with CEA, his prior positions include Director of Corporate Finance in the merchant banking practice at IBJ Whitehall and Vice President at GE Capital – Corporate Finance. John began his career as a CPA with Ernst & Young. His international experience includes work in Mexico, Latin America and the developing markets of Central and Eastern Europe. John holds a Master of Business Administration degree specializing in international finance from Fordham University’s Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Baylor University. He is fluent in English and Spanish and has a working knowledge of Polish.
