Jonathan Grad

Bio

Jon Grad joined Parthenon Capital Partners in September 2005 in the firm’s Boston office. Mr. Grad has twelve years of private equity experience and has worked on investments in a wide variety of industries, including financial services/insurance, software, and distribution/logistics. Mr. Grad is responsible for evaluating and executing new investment opportunities, as well as working with certain existing portfolio companies. Prior to joining Parthenon, he was a Principal at Golden Gate Capital, a $2.5 billion private equity firm focused on investing in middle market companies. While at Golden Gate, Mr. Grad identified, evaluated and closed several investments across a broad spectrum of industries, with transaction structures including large leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, acquisitions of financially distressed companies, growth investments, and de novo startups. Mr. Grad has particular experience working with management teams of growth companies as they expand organically and through acquisitions. Mr. Grad previously spent several years as an investment professional at both KKR & Co, a large leveraged buyout firm, and Softbank Venture Capital, a leading technology venture capital firm. His responsibilities included executing investments in industries ranging from manufacturing and general industry to healthcare services, telecommunications, and software. Mr. Grad began his career as a financial analyst at Morgan Stanley Capital Partners, the former private equity affiliate of Morgan Stanley & Co. Mr. Grad earned his B.A. summa cum laude from Princeton University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
