Josh Wolf-Powers is Co-founder and Partner at Blue Wolf Capital Partners LLC, a private equity firm, and Blue Wolf Capital Fund II, L.P., a private equity fund, which specialize in control investments in middle-market companies in which managing relationships with government or labor, or resolving financial or operational distress, are critical to building value. Mr. Wolf-Powers is a member of Blue Wolf's investment committee. Prior to founding Blue Wolf, he served as Managing Director - Private Markets for New York City Comptroller William C. Thompson, Jr., from 2003-2005. In this position, Mr. Wolf-Powers oversaw the process by which the New York City Retirement Systems invested in private equity, economically targeted investments and other securities for which there is not a public market. During his tenure, the New York City Retirement Systems more than doubled their allocation to the private equity asset class, and their commitments to private equity funds, committing over $2 billion to nineteen private equity funds. The Systems similarly doubled their assets held in private equity to over $1 billion during this period. Prior to holding this position, Mr. Wolf-Powers was a Vice President at KPS Capital Partners, which has committed capital exceeding $1.8 billion. KPS makes controlling equity investments in businesses engaged in basic manufacturing, transportation and service industries challenged by the need to effect immediate and significant change. He was also an investment banker with Goldman, Sachs & Co., where he was an Associate in the firm's Municipal Finance department. He chairs the board of Healthcare Laundry Systems LLC and is a member of the Boards of Managers of Finch Paper Holdings and Azure Mountain. Mr. Wolf-Powers received a B.A. from Columbia University's School of General Studies, cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, and an M.B.A. from New York University's Leonard N. Stern School of Business, where he was a Dean's Scholar.
