Bio

He is an industrial engineer by training, with over seven years’ experience in the manufacturing sector prior to joining Ventureast in 1997. He has significant experience working with early stage biotech companies, and his current portfolio includes Elbit, a medical diagnostics chain; ImedX, a Indo-US healthcare information delivery service provider; Bioserve, a Indo-US pharmacogenomics services player; and Dodla Dairy, South India’s leading dairy products company. His experience in guiding, mentoring and backing portfolio companies has resulted in a number of investments where the companies’ value has multiplied more than five-fold, and in one case, ten-fold. He is also adept at building companies through the inorganic route having overseen four acquisitions for a particular portfolio company, which multiplied the revenue many times over in just two years. Another recent acquisition saw a portfolio company building one of the largest tissue repositories in the world. He played a key role in EP Industries, an investment in the manufacturing sector, where he decided to forgo dividends in favour of investing back into the R&D of the company, eventually leading to Ventureast’s first ten-bagger exit. Prior to joining Ventureast, he was an entrepreneur, building his family’s auto components business and helping it achieve top-line growth by three times within a year of operation. His larger family has varied business interests, and he plays the role of a mentor and advisor to many. Recently, he even helped a relative in setting up a business school from scratch.
