Mark Hughes

Bio

Mr. Hughes joined ComVest in April 2007 following a 14 year career in finance, primarily spent as an investment banker focused on middle market companies. Throughout his career, Mr. Hughes has acted in a lead capacity in most of his transactions with prime responsibility for originating, negotiating and executing deals. Mr. Hughes’ transactional experience includes private placements, IPOs, follow-ons, PIPEs, 144a converts, and M&A in a diverse range of industries including technology, communications, defense, restaurants, energy, and real estate. In aggregate, Mr. Hughes has closed 45 transactions; raising roughly $1.5 billion in gross proceeds and advising on over $400 million in M&A. Prior to ComVest, Mr. Hughes was a Managing Director at Tejas Securities Group, where he spearheaded the development of the Corporate Finance and M&A practice with a balanced approach between emerging growth and distressed opportunities. Prior to Tejas, Mr. Hughes served as a Managing Director at C.E. Unterberg, Towbin where he focused on middle market companies in the technology sector, most recently, having senior leadership of the communications and defense groups. Prior to Unterberg, Towbin, Mr. Hughes worked in Global Markets at Deutsche Bank as a Foreign Exchange analyst. Mr. Hughes was a CPA and received his B.S. from the Rutgers University School of Business.
