Bio
Mike Koldyke formed Frontenac in 1971, prior to which he was a vice president with Dean Witter. He represented Frontenac on the boards of numerous investments before retiring as an active member of the firm in 1993. He is recognized for his civic and philanthropic endeavors, most of which are related to his long-standing commitment to education. He is the founder and chairman emeritus of both the Golden Apple Foundation and the Academy for Urban School Leadership and serves on the Boards of the Golden Apple Foundation of New Mexico, After School Matters, the National Council on Teacher Quality and the Big Shoulders Fund. Mike is a past Chairman of the Board of Window to the World Communications, Inc. (WTTW-Channel 11, WFMT Radio) and continues his board service and is a Life Trustee of Northwestern University and the Ravinia Festival Association. He is a graduate of Purdue University.
