Matthew Barger

Bio

Deputy Chairman of Hellman & Friedman. His primary area of focus is asset management investments. He was instrumental in the firm's investments in Mondrian Investment Partners, Brinson Partners, Oechsle International, Franklin Resources, Farallon Capital Management, and Artisan Partners. Prior to joining the firm in 1984, Mr Barger was an associate in the Corporate Finance Department of Lehman Brothers Kuhn Loeb. Mr Barger is on the Advisory Board of Artisan Partners LP and is a Director of Mondrian Investment Partners and Mitchell International Inc. Formerly, he was a director of Brinson Partners Inc, General Cellular Corporation, Hoyts Cinemas, John Fairfax Holdings Ltd, National Radio Partners LP, Neverfail Springwater Ltd, and Oechsle International LP. Mr Barger also serves as a Director of the San Francisco Free Clinic and the USA Cycling Development Foundation. Graduated from Yale University and the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
