Mike Willis

Bio

Mike Willis joined Virgin Green Fund in 2006 and brings over 10 years of experience in private equity, investment banking and corporate finance to VGF. Mike was instrumental in the sourcing and consummation of the DuraTherm investment and currently manages both that investment and the Gevo investment. Mike has been involved with the Virgin Group’s thrust into renewable energy since the outset in 2005. Prior to VGF, Mike worked at Virgin Management Limited in London in corporate finance and strategy roles assisting several of the Virgin portfolio companies internationally in managing their growth and in effecting corporate transactions at the senior management and Board level. Prior to Virgin, Mike worked in private equity and investment banking in the United States and Canada with Bedford Capital Corporation and First Albany, focusing on mid-market transactions in a variety of sectors including technology, consumer products and retail. Mike has an MBA from INSEAD in France and a BCom from Queen’s University in Canada.
