Newton Aguiar

Bio

Mr Aguiar is a Managing Director of Credit Suisse's Asset Management business, based in London. He is a Partner in DLJ Merchant Banking Partners, the firm's leveraged buyout business. He is responsible for originating new investments and monitoring existing investments and serves on its Investment Committee. Mr Aguiar joined Credit Suisse in 2006. He was previously a Partner at Triton, a leading European private equity firm where he led several successful buyouts, focusing particularly in the health care markets. Mr Aguiar started his private equity career at Advent International, where he was based in Advent's London and Paris offices. Mr Aguiar also held positions in the health care Investment Banking group at Alex. Brown & Sons. Mr Aguiar started his career at Millipore Corporation in Boston and Paris where he developed biotechnology instrumentation. Mr Aguiar is a director of several DLJ Merchant Banking portfolio companies including Grohe - the German sanitary fittings business, Nycomed - the global specialty pharmaceutical company and Guala Closures - the Italian specialty closures company. Mr Aguiar has been a director of several other private companies. Mr Aguiar holds a BSc in Chemistry from McGill University in Canada and an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University.
