Peter Augustin

Bio

Became Senior Vice President of West STEAG Partners in August 2001. Before joining West STEAG Partners, he has served STEAG Electronic Systems as Senior Vice President International Sales and Chairman of the Board of Directors of STEAG RTP Systems since SES acquired AG Associates Inc and merged AG and STEAG AST Elektronik into STEAG RTP Systems in 1999. He directed the integration of the Semiconductor Equipment Sales and Service network and supervised the integration process of STEAG RTP Systems. In 1997, SES acquired AST Elektronik, and Mr Augustin served as a CEO of the RTP operations and International Sales from 1997 to 1999. He was a Member of the Board of Directors of Torrex Equipment Corporation (Livermore, CA) until June 2004 when the company was acquired by Applied Materials, and of Vortek Industries Ltd. (Vancouver, Canada) until the company was acquired by Mattson Technology in October 2004. Prior to the acquisition by SES, Mr Augustin served as a Managing Director of AST Elektronik, a pioneer in Rapid Thermal Processing (RTP), which he co-founded in 1985. AST Elektronik was the second-largest supplier of RTP equipment worldwide when SES acquired the company. Mr Augustin formerly served ASM International several years as Service Manager, Sales and Service Manager and General Manager. Prior to joining ASM, he was a Manager in the Semiconductor Department of Siemens. Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Munich.
