Bio

Raj is a Principal with IndoUS Venture Partners (IUVP). His professional career includes venture capital, investment banking and business development experience. The majority of his investment experience has been within India's technology and media sectors. Prior to joining IUVP in 2011, Raj was a Principal and a part of the founding team at SVB India Capital Partners, an India-focused venture capital firm. During his four years at SVB, he was primarily involved with the firm's early-stage investment activity. He also led the firm's sourcing and due diligence efforts within the consumer Internet and mobile sectors. Before SVB, Raj was based in Silicon Valley, where he helped lead business development deals at Yahoo! and Scient, and also looked at seed and early-stage investments in the consumer Internet and mobile space. He was also a part of the media and technology investment banking team at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Raj began his career in the corporate restructuring group at Price Waterhouse, where he helped manage turn-around engagements for Fortune 500 companies in Europe, Latin America and Southeast Asia. Raj graduated from Harvard University and The Kellogg School of Management, where he concurrently earned master's degrees in both business administration and public policy. He also holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated with high distinction. Raj is an active member of the Harvard India Alumni Club, Wharton Private Equity Partners and Indian Venture Capital Association (IVCA). He is the India Chair of the 2011 HBS New Venture Contest and has been a speaker at Harvard and Kellogg on the topic of venture investing in India.
