A co-founder of South Franklin Street Partners, Ray has 25 years of experience in building and managing private equity firms. From 1995 through 2000, he served as Managing Partner of Kirtland Capital Partners, a Cleveland, Ohio-based private equity firm. With two partners, he raised $300 million to invest in portfolio companies. Ray was founder and Managing Partner of Key Equity Partners, having been recruited by KeyCorp to establish its presence in the leveraged buyout, private equity market. There he built a highly-profitable business that continues today as Blue Point Capital Partners. From 1985-89, he served as the Managing Partner in a venture capital subsidiary of Norstar Bancorp, established to invest in early and mid-sized high-technology companies. This subsidiary was acquired by Fleet Bancorp and became a part of Fleet Partners. Ray also is the former Chief Financial Officer of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and has served on over 20 boards of directors, six for which he is currently a director.
