Bio

Robert D. Franson joined EIF in 2009 and is primarily responsible for the management of portfolio investments, including the identification and implementation of strategies to optimize value and the disposition of investments. Mr. Franson has 11 years of relevant industry experience across several disciplines in energy finance, including project finance, equity research, and portfolio management. Prior to joining EIF, Mr. Franson was a member of Bank of Ireland’s Global Project Finance team, where he was responsible for all phases of deal completion, including deal origination, underwriting, and transaction structuring. Prior to Bank of Ireland, Mr. Franson worked for GE Energy Financial Services, where he underwrote numerous deals across the energy industry including power generation facilities, deepwater drilling rigs, and LNG terminals. Prior to GE EFS, Mr. Franson worked as an equity research analyst at both Deutsche Bank and Bear Stearns, covering the Oilfield Services sector and Merchant Power industry, respectively. Mr. Franson is a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Marine Corps Reserve and has served throughout the Middle East and Afghanistan. Mr. Franson received a B.E. from the State University of New York Maritime College and an M.B.A. from the University of Maryland.
