Mr Robert P Pincus is the Vice Chairman of EagleBank and Eagle Bancorp, located in Bethesda, Maryland. In August 2008, EagleBank merged with Fidelity & Trust Bank. Prior to joining EagleBank, a $1.4 billion community bank in the Washington Metropolitan area, he was the Chairman of Fidelity & Trust Bank. When he joined Fidelity & Trust Bank in April 2005, the Bank had 120 million in assets. When Fidelity merged with EagleBank, the Bank had grown to $500 million in assets. Mr Pincus presently serves as Chairman of the Advisory Board of Blackstreet Capital, a private equity firm, and also serves as Chairman of Milestone Merchant Partners, an investment bank He began his banking career at D.C. National Bank in 1971, and in 1982 was promoted to President and Chief Executive Officer of D.C. National Bank and D.C. National Bancorp, Inc. which in March of 1986 became Sovran Bank/DC National. During his presidency at D.C. National Bank, assets grew from $180 million to $1.2 billion. In May of 1991, he became President and Chief Executive Officer of Franklin National Bank of Washington, D.C. At the time he joined Franklin, total assets were $45 million. At the time of merger with BB&T, Franklin had grown to over $900 million in total assets. Under his leadership, Franklin National Bank was named "Outstanding Business of the Year" by the D.C. Chamber of Commerce and “Outstanding Business Lender” in the metropolitan area by the Small Business Administration. In February, 1999, Franklin National Bank was renamed BB&T following the acquisition of Franklin by BB&T. BB&T is the sponsor of the BB&T Classic, formerly the Franklin National Bank Classic, a major men's college basketball tournament that has raised more than $8.0 million to benefit the Children's Charities Foundation, a non-profit foundation supporting disadvantaged youth in the metropolitan Washington area. Mr. Pincus was a founder of this tournament Mr Pincus also served as Regional Chairman of the Board of BB&T, DC Metro Region and was Regional President from 1998 to 2002. When Mr Pincus retired in 2002, the region had grown to over $2.5 billion in assets Mr Pincus has served as the President of the Washington Area Bankers Association; Vice Chairman of WETA public television; a member of the Board of the Mills Corporation, a New York Stock Exchange company; a Trustee of American University; a member of the Young President’s Organization; a member of the Board of Trustees for The National Children’s Museum; Chairman of the corporate campaign for the Metro Area United Way; Chairman of the Annual March of Dimes Telethon and Walk America; Chairman of George Washington University Cancer Center; director of Arena Stage; a member of the District of Columbia Tax Revision Commission; a member of the Board of the YMCA; the D.C. Local Initiatives Support Corporation (“LISC”); and the Neighborhood Economic Development Corporation (NEDCO) Mr Pincus holds a BA from the University of Maryland in 1968 and his M B A from American University in 1971
