Bio

Mr Ng is the Founder of Springboard Worldwide Pte Ltd. His private equity / venture capital investing experience of 11 years covers Southeast Asia, and Asia including India. While he was at the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC), he played a key role in incorporating some of Asia's leading regional private equity/venture capital funds in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and India. He later joined Nippon Investment Finance (NIF), the venture capital arm of the Daiwa Securities Group of Japan where he headed a team in charge of regional investments in Asia and India. Mr Ng had invested more than US$90 million for GIC and NIF. Through his strong network of relationships in Asia, he helped the NIF Group invest US$15 million in 4 successful ventures during the Asian crisis of 1998. During that depressed period, he monitored and helped to create exits for a number of NIF investee companies. Prior to his fund management career, Mr Ng managed acquisition projects and system maintenance of naval electronic warfare systems for the Singapore Navy. He also represented the Singapore Navy as a Systems Integration Engineer in a world-class R&D facility in the Middle East to build an advanced shipboard electronic warfare system. Mr Ng also served on the Board of Directors of several investee companies to guide the management on operational matters. He was also involved actively in an Israeli country Fund, which NIF co-managed with the Evergreen Group of Canada. This Israeli Fund focused on high tech startups. Mr Ng graduated with First Class Honors in Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical & Electronics) under the Colombo Plan Scholarship.
