Bio

Tae Hea Nahm is a founding general partner of Storm Ventures. His investment strategy is focused on mobile and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). In mobile, his current investments include: AirPlug (Korean startup), Com2us (mobile games and public on KOSDAQ, the Korean NASDAQ), MobileIron (smart device management for enterprises) and CellFire (mobile coupons). His prior mobile investments include: AireSpace/founding CEO (enterprise WLAN platforms and acquired by Cisco), Berkana Wireless/co-Chairman (cellular RF silicon and acquired by Qualcomm), McubeWorks (Korean, mobile video and acquired by CoreLogic), JetCell (inbuilding cellular and acquired by Cisco) and Netro (fixed wireless, IPO and acquired by SR Telecom). He is also a strategic advisor to KT (a leading Korean carrier and a limited partner in Storm). In SaaS, his current investments include: EchoSign (esignatures) and Marketo (revenue performance management). His prior software investments include: Access360 (identity management and acquired by IBM), AtRoad (fleet management, IPO and acquired by Trimble), and OSA Technologies (embedded management and acquired by Avocent). Tae Hea enjoys investing at the earliest stage. He has started companies within Storm when passionate about a market vision and unable to find the right startup. For example, he hired the founders for AireSpace (while serving as acting CEO) and the founders for MobileIron, and provided the business idea for AirPlug. He also recruited and funded Storm EIRs, including Ilbok Lee (Silego) and Jason Lemkin (EchoSign). Since being born in Seoul, Korea, he has worked at a leading Korean law firm (Shin & Kim) and represented Korean corporations (such as Samsung). At Storm, he has invested in numerous Korean founders: AirPlug, Berkana Wireless, Com2us, Hansol HealthCare, IML, McubeWorks, Novera Optics and Silego. He currently serves on the board of Silego. He has invested in other semiconductor companies: IML (public on TWSE), Berkana Wireless, ESS Technology (IPO), IC Works (acq by Cypress), Marvell Technology (IPO), Quality Semiconductor (IPO) and SMI (acquired by SemTech). Prior to Storm, he was a founding partner of Venture Law Group and a partner at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where he advised and personally invested in numerous startups. He also currently serves on the board of Asoka. He has invested in other networking companies: Novera Optics (acquired by LG Nortel), Ramp Networks (IPO and acquired by Nokia), StrataCom (IPO and acquired by Cisco), Telera (acquired by Alcatel), Transmedia (acquired by Cisco) and Xylan (IPO and acquired by Alcatel). He holds an AB in Applied Mathematics from Harvard College and a JD from University of Chicago Law School.
