Tim Layton

Bio

Mr. Layton is a co-founder of Sorenson Capital and Managing Director. Mr. Layton was most recently a Managing Director of Alpine Consolidated, a firm specializing in effecting industry consolidations. He is a co-founder of InStar Services, an insurance restoration firm, and MC2 a tradeshow exhibit manufacturing and services company. Prior to joining Alpine, from 1987 to 1998, Mr. Layton was CEO of Medeco Security Locks, the world leader in ultra-secure physical security products. From 1982 to 1987, he served as Vice President and Director of Strategic Planning at Hillenbrand Industries in Indiana, where he led the strategic planning and implementation process for the corporation and the diligence process for three successful acquisitions. Mr. Layton also has served as an advisor and consultant to five technology companies in Utah and Arizona. Mr. Layton graduated first in his MBA program class at Brigham Young University and also graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Statistics and a Minor in Economics from Brigham Young University.
