Joined Volaw in 1988 and was appointed a director in 1989. Responsible for the management and administration of Volaw´s corporate clients, including special purpose vehicles and collective investment funds. Acknowledged industry specialist in Islamic finance work; were he has worked on a wide variety of Shari’a compliant transactions, including several real estate funds, various specialist Shari’a screened equity funds and the award-winning caravan I securitization Sukuk. Specialist knowledge has led to him being invited to write several definitive articles on Islamic finance, including one on Islamic Investment Funds for the book “Islamic Asset Management”; and another on Trusts and Shari’a Law for the book “Islamic Retail Banking and Finance”. Regular speaker at International Conferences, particularly those dealing with Islamic Finance. Fellow of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, having qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1983. Honours Degree in Business Studies in 1980, and member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the International Tax Planning Association and the Institute of Directors.
