Triton was founded in 1997, with a belief in engaging with boards, managers and employees to build better businesses. We are entrepreneurs who invest capital where we see an opportunity to create long-term value. Close relationships are essential: the people with whom we work bring detailed knowledge of their businesses and an appetite to effect change for the benefit of all. We strive to bring industrial, strategic and operational expertise, which we believe represent a powerful combination. We are conscious that the decisions we take affect people's lives. The 47 companies currently in our portfolio play important roles in the communities they serve in northern Europe. They employ around 102,900 people and have combined sales of around €17,2bn. In 2018, we raised €5.2 billion for our most recent private equity fund, Triton V. Triton has raised €15.6bn from 180≈ investors including public and private pension funds, endowments and sovereign wealth funds.
