Dana Al Salem

Bio

Dana is an international innovation expert and a serial entrepreneur. She is the Founder/Co-founder of Clockwork Agency (Sweden), Yahoo! Europe (UK), LostRecords (France), FanFactory Ltd (UK), and L’Amandier (Morocco). Dana is also an Advisor to SPiCE VC, a leading venture capital fund that invests in the blockchain sector.

Dana has been at the forefront of digital media since 1994 when she co-founded Clockwork while graduating from both AUP and Parsons School of Design, Summa Cum Laude in Art History and Multimedia Design. Clockwork was a Stockholm-based, award-winning agency that built the first interactive platforms online and was acquired by a large Norwegian media firm within six years.

In May 1996, Dana co-founded Yahoo! Europe, built its production team, and implemented the rollout of 40 online services for the local European territories. Dana then moved into Television in London in 2002, managing the launch, programming, rebranding, and positioning of Sky Italia, MBC, ITV, where she specialized in On Air audience retention. She was awarded two World Gold Promax awards by 2005. Also, in 2005 Dana founded Lost Records, which produced global tours for musicians such as Chris Stills, Louis Bertignac, and Youssou NDour. 

In 2007, Dana founded FanFactory Ltd, a tech agency that focuses on predictive audience analytics, lead generation, and consumer intelligence. FanFactory specializes in finding and converting online consumers into fans and fans into consumers for brands, governments, or institutions. FanFactory was awarded as one of the top 100 tech companies in the UK at the Tech 100 Insider award 2013 and was the catalyst for Wired magazine in developing the expression Marketing Technologist. 

Later in 2015, Dana developed within the aviation sector data-driven algorithms to streamline logistics on aircraft holding times, AOGs, by predicting their needs in advance. Between 2016 and 2019, Dana created innovation-based programs with the governments of India, Azerbaijan, and Abu Dhabi, covering entrepreneurship, tourism, and cyber security. Dana is a special advisor to the governments of Panama, Monaco, and Georgia and a cyber security ambassador for the UK. 

Dana is a Grand Jury Member of the World Summit Awards, an affiliate of the UN, MIT Pan Arab, and BlooMMasters. She is appointed Special Advisor to HE Carmen Vergara for ProPanama, under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Dana is also a Maiden Voice for OBE Tracy Edward’s Maiden Voyage, whose mission is to educate young women globally.
