Head of Actis' real estate business. Joined Actis in 1990 and was responsible for setting up Actis' South Africa team in 1995. Has been investing in emerging markets for over 15 years and has been instrumental in a number of significant investments including: Lenco in South Africa; Africa's Protea Hotels; Infrastructure Finance Corporation in South Africa; TRAC Toll Concessions; and the management buyout of Engro Chemicals in Pakistan. Before joining Actis, spent seven years at Swiss-based commodities trader EMD Schluter & Co. Degree in economics and land economy from Cambridge University, an MA in development economics from the university of East Anglia and an MBA from London Business School.
